11/3 Update

Had a crazy night last night. I started having some contractions, which wasn't unusual, but had enough for them to give me a shot to stop them again. Instead of stopping as usual, they got more frequent and stronger. They gave me another shot along with another dose of my regular meds to stop contractions and it didn't seem to be working. Keep in mind that my temp was continuing to go up and I felt crappy and also, the side effects of the shot is a racing heart and anxiety. After all of this, I started losing a ton of blood...more than usual.

They decided to transfer me to labor and deliver, from the high risk maternity area that I'm normally in. They had already given me everything they could for the time being, so I couldn't get any more meds to stop the contractions and we just had to wait and see. After a few hours of contractions, they finally started to go away! They gave me another ultrasound to check positions and my dialation and Baby A is still breech, and is folded up with her butt down bumping my cervix and Baby B is still transverse, which means side to side, not up and down. The tech said it looks like my cervix is about 3.7cm dialated, so it's a little more than the 3cm that I was last Sunday. I was feeling pretty good until my nurse told me they just delivered a 21 weeker at only 4cm dialated. Thanks for that bit of information!

Anyway, I have lost so much blood over the last week that I am pretty anemic and with last night's episode, they decided that I needed a blood transfusion. I am currently getting 2cc of blood in me as I type. I haven't had any more contractions, which is great news, and I should be moving back to my old room soon and out of L&D. On a side note, I really feel like I was coming down with an infection, because I was starting to get all of the signs (elevated white blood cells, high temps, not feeling good), but all of the signs are completely gone at this point. Praise the Lord for that! Last night after I came to L&D, I was also really calm and just knew that I was not about to deliver. I just felt like it wasn't time yet, so I know God is letting me know He is here.

Jen,

I love you so much, and even though I am in the same hospital room as you as I type this, I want everyone to know how much I admire your strength, faithfulness to the Lord, and noble positivity during this rough time. You are truly an inspiration to me, and I want to tell you how incredible you are (Proverbs 31:28-29). Keep trusting our Lord - the Great Physician. I know you and our girls are in the palm of his hand right now.
God, please give us even more strength and peace during this trial, and show us and our little girls Your grace and mercy. Thank You for my wonderful wife, and please continue to pour out Your love and healing power on her and our two little ones. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

I love you Jenell.

Jen and Rob, you both are amazing and strong. The Lord is going to bless you for your faith and perseverance through all of this. It was so good to see you and we are continually praying. You both are a testimony and an example to all of us. Love you SO much!

What a night Jenny! I am soooo glad to hear the signs of infection have vanished. You just keep telling those beautiful girls of yours to wait, they are just where you need them to be right now. Getting closer and closer to 24 weeks, keep up the good work momma! And Rob, what a great husband you are. We are thinking of you just as much as Jenny and the girls. You have an amazing family and are so very lucky to have each other. Wish we could be there with you, but your buddies are right here thinking of you every second of the day. We love you so much. Take care of each other and call when you can. Love you all!! Love, Jerry and Amy

Hey darlin! I put the word out to one of my good friends and this is what she sent back to me...

Let Jennell know she has ALOT of prayers going out today. Matthew 18:20 (The Message) "When two of you get together on anything at all on earth and make a prayer of it, my Father in heaven goes into action. And when two or three of you are together because of me, you can be sure that I'll be there."

There are a lot more than two or three of us coming together asking the Lord to bless you all! He is with you (and so are we!)

Lot's of love!

Hi Jenell and Rob,
This is Gina Basham, Kim's friend from the Christian School in Paradise. She told me of your story and I am so inspired by the both of you. My husband and I also live in Cameron Park, so please let us know if there is anything we can do for you...we mean it:) Once things settle down for the two of you, we would love to invite you over and get to know you better, since we actually live in the same town:) We're praying for you and your little girls. Blessings to the 4 of you!

Jenell and Rob. My prayers are with you and your beautiful twin daughters. I am sure you will get to know and love them for years to come. A friend sent me your story and asked me to pray as I have twin boys and know the fear you have at both the blessing and the complexity of the situation. Draw strength from our Lord and continue to love each other and your family to be. Love and peace be yours. Sharon in California.

Hey Jen!

I'm so happy to know that you have a blog that we can keep track of how you are doing and know best how we can pray for you. I just spoke with Rob and got somewhat of an update, but this is great. On a side note, I wanted to find out where you were at so we could come and visit you sometime soon. I know you must be getting bored in there, and I had recently bought (and watched) the first two seasons of Friday Night Lights on DVD. I know you are also a fan, so when we can make it down I will try and bring you the seasons so you can pass some time. I know God is going to continue to take good care of you and the babies and just know that we are praying for you! God bless you and keep your chin up. You are right, He is with you!

You don't know me but I am a friend of the Sparks. I was very familiar with your blog for Makenna which Sara had told me about. At the time I had just lost my son Ethan who was born prematurely and went to be with the Lord after only one hour. Your story has moved me and your current situation only adds to that. I am inspired by your faithfulness to the Lord and your ability to lean on Him and trust Him. You are an example of His grace.

You are all in my prayers and I am pulling for these precious girls along with you as are others whom I've told about you. I pray for your continued strength through this all and God's peace to remain upon you.
